MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him break into mainstream Latin music. The 2016 smash Una Lady Como Tu was the winner of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Favorite Song in 2017. In 2017, he dropped ADN, his first long-player for La Industria Inc. in Medellin. It reached the number 8 spot in the Top Latin Albums chart. In the following year, he was a part of Ozuna for their Top Five smash Vaina Loca. Mala Influencia was his collaborative effort with Noriel in 2020. In the following season, Dopamina came out as his sophomore album. In 2021, he sang a duet. He sang a duet 2021 with TINI for her smash hit Maldita Foto. 2000 which included the smash song La Bachata appeared in 2023. Turizo was raised in a music-oriented environment as both his mother & his older brother are musicians. In interviews he has described playing music as an obligation. In his childhood he was taught how to play guitar, the piano as well as the ukulele. He initially wanted to be Veterinarian, however after his brother Julian was convinced to let him attend singing lessons from a Cuban singer, he changed goals for his future career.
